Our Inclusion

At OCMAT, inclusion is at the heart of our approach to education. We believe that every pupil should have the opportunity to participate, learn, belong and succeed.

Inclusion is not an additional strand of our work. It is embedded in the everyday practice of our schools — from teaching and curriculum design to the learning environment, wellbeing, attendance and our partnerships with families. We work to understand the barriers pupils may face and to reduce these through high-quality teaching, thoughtful adaptations and appropriate support.

Our Trust-wide Inclusion Strategy sets out our approach to inclusive practice, while our Inclusion Exemplification provides practical examples of how this is reflected across our schools.

Each OCMAT school also develops its own Inclusion Strategy, informed by the needs of its pupils, families and community. These strategies identify key priorities and actions for strengthening inclusive practice and form part of each school's wider School Development Plan.
